Tea Arm Project (VMS)
Bimodal submarine volcanic host rocks (massive and pillowed flows, volcaniclastics, epiclastics) – equivalent to Wild Bight Group rocks that host Lockport VMS mineralization.
Rhyolite flows and breccias with alteration (chloritic, sericitic) typical of VMS systems and stockwork-style mineralization (pyrite-chalcopyrite-sphalerite stringers).
Focus of intensive prospecting, geophysical surveying, and diamond drilling in 1994-97 by Phelps Dodge. Five DDH completed for a total of 1815m.
Last DDH drilled (TA-242-09) intersected a continuous, 82m-long section of “altered and mineralized felsic volcanics” with highly anomalous mineralized intervals (zinc up to 1.93%; copper up to 0.37%; and silver up to 14g/t).
1,100 hectare property; access by boat from nearby community of Pleasantview (5km).
The Tea Arm Project is 6 km west of Puddle Pond’s Winter Tickle, Orogenic Gold Project and is within the same package of geological rocks that is host to the gold mineralization on the Winter Tickle Project.
