Victor A. French
Victor French of Bay Roberts, NL holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Geology, is a Registered Professional Geoscientist in Newfoundland and Labrador, a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada, and a life member of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada. During a 50+ year career, he has worked in the mining industry as a senior manager in an open pit mining operation and as an exploration consultant to the industry with expertise in gold and silver exploration. He is also on the board of several NL based, private natural resource companies.
Mr. French has had a successful career in the mineral resource industry having been the lead geologist in identifying the mineral potential in several active exploration districts of Newfoundland & Labrador (NL). These include the western White Bay Gold District, the Point May Epithermal Gold – Silver System on the Burin Peninsula and the 16 km gold mineralized structure on Glover Island in western Newfoundland, all of which are host to measurable NI 43-101 compliant resources. He has also generated NL based, successful exploration projects for global mining companies such as BHP Billiton & Placer Dome (acquired by Barrick in 2006).
Len Muise
Len Muise Bachelor Arts (Hons); Bachelor Voc. Ed; CET; LUATC; CNA has a diverse background in business and human resource management, financial planning, post-secondary education, mining and mineral exploration. His part time passion for over thirty years has been prospecting. He is a principal in several private exploration companies and usually has several other prospectors involved in any one particular exploration property.
Len worked for Newfoundland Zinc Mines at Daniels Harbour NL in a senior management role before beginning to teach the two year Mineral Technology Program at College of the North Atlantic in Stephenville NL. He was instrumental in developing and facilitating the popular two week prospector training course sponsored by the NL Department of Natural Resources. Over the years he has provided a variety of consultant services to the natural resource sector. Len and his wife Betty live in Gambo NL; they have three married adult children and four grandchildren.
Jo Mark Zurel
Mr. Zurel is a Chartered Accountant and from 2006 has been President of Stonebridge Capital Inc., an investment company. From 1998 to 2006, Mr. Zurel was Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of CHC Helicopter Corporation, helping to build it into the world’s largest helicopter operating company. He is immediate past Chairman of Newfoundland Power Inc., Vice-Chair of the Atlantic Province’s Economic Council and is an Independent Director of the Major Drilling Group, Highland Copper Company Inc., and Fronteer Gold Inc. Mr. Zurel is a director of Highland Resources Inc., Fortis Inc. and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and is a Corporate Director of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Mr. Zurel has been honoured as one of Canada’s Top 40 under 40 in 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University. Mr. Zurel is an active angel investor with the Newfoundland and Labrador Angel Network (NLAN).
Gerry Hull
In Memoriam
The late Gerald Hull had a diverse background in several areas. Gerald worked his way up through the airline from loading aircraft to customer relations and operations and was involved at that capacity when all the aircraft landed in Newfoundland during the 9/11 crisis. Mr. Hull also worked in Northern Canada for the Hudson Bay Company and learned to communicate in different dialects of the northern aboriginal people in Canada. Gerald was an experienced prospector participating in several mineral resource discoveries and had an immense passion for the exploration industry.
