Calvin’s Landing Project (Epithermal Gold)
Northernmost of two claim blocks located close to the Dover Fault, which separates the greenschist facies volcanics of the Avalon Zone (to the east) from the amphibolite facies metamorphic rocks of the Gander Zone (to the west).
The Dover-Terra Nova Fault is a largely unexplored, regionally-extensive, transcurrent fault system comprised of brittle-ductile shear zones and zones of mylonitization.
The 2,550-hectare property is situated in the “Avalonian Epithermal Belt”, which is host to a series of important Neoproterozoic epithermal Au-Ag deposits and prospects (e.g., Hope Brook Mine & Heritage Project NL and the Haile Mine, South Carolina).
Extensive surface zones of epithermal-style, silica-alunite-pyrophyllite alteration. Recent prospecting – samples up to 1.5 g/t gold.
Located close to the Trans-Canada Highway and the town of Gambo.
